Coir & Grow Media

Coconut Coir, also known as coconut fiber, is a natural fiber extracted from the husk of a coconut and used in a variety of environmentally friendly products. Coir is the fibrous material found between a coconut’s hard internal shell and its outer coat. Brown coir (made from ripe coconut) is also used in upholstery padding, sacking, and horticulture.

For centuries, Sri Lankan coconut coir and coir-based product manufacturers have been a major cottage industry in Sri Lanka. We have a long history of using coconut fiber to make a variety of products for the home, agriculture, and industry. The ‘drum system,’ a one-of-a-kind technique for extracting fibre, produces long pure fiber that is mostly suitable for the brush industry. It is divided into two categories: brown and white fibre, which account for 80% and 20% of global coir fibre demand, respectively.
